The Alexander Technique is an innovative method that helps us become aware of and transform our harmful habits, experience relief from chronic pain, improve breathing and voice production, enhance performance, move with ease, reduce stress and more… 8 week classes beginning Wednesday, February 13th and Wednesday, April 16th There will be four 30 minute individual lessons given to each participant outside of the class time during the eight week period. Class size limited to 8. ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE FOR ACTORS Tom combines his expertise as an Alexander Technique teacher and over 30 years of acting and theater experience to help performers improve their breathing coordination and vocal production, create the physical life of the character with ease, allow better emotional availability and expression. 10 week classes beginning February 5th and April 15th "With the best intentions, the job of acting can become a display of accumulated bad habits, trapped instincts and blocked energies. Real imaginative freedom”— Alan Rickman Tom Vasiliades is the founder and director of the Alexander Technique Center for Performance and Development. He has taught the Alexander Technique to professional and student performers, people with chronic pain and respiratory diseases (such as asthma and emphysema), business people and athletes. He has taught in university settings, medical offices and health clubs. Tom is currently the Chair of the Movement Department at the New School for Drama at New School University. He is also teaches at New York University-Tisch School of the Arts and The Juilliard School. Location for all classes:
