The Alexander Technique helps people become aware of unconscious patterns and habits that interfere with one's functioning. You will be introduced to and learn the principles of the Alexander Technique and how to practice them in life.

The Technique benefits people with chronic pain and respiratory issues like asthma and emphysema. Performers have used this innovative method to improve breathing and vocal production, to have more freedom in movement and to enhance performance. Others have found it to reduce stress and to be helpful with personal growth and development.

Discount on Individual Lessons

F. M. Alexander, the Technique's founder, would have students take an intensive series of lessons -- 30 lessons over six weeks. This consistent, concentrated immersion in the work is even better than taking weekly lessons.

Students having nearly daily work with a teacher helps bring about profound changes. This will give you a solid, deep understanding and practice of the Technique that can have transformational benefits in your life.

We are offering different packages for individual lessons. The fee for one 45 minute lesson is $85.

5 lessons - $400 to be completed within 60 days
10 lessons - $775 to be completed within 90 days
20 lessons - $1,350 to be completed within 6 months
30 lessons - $1,800 to be completed within 9 months

For more information or to reserve a series of lessons email: info@atcpd.com or call: (212) 564-5472.

Alexander Technique Teacher Training

I am happy to announce the opening of the Training
Center for the Alexander Technique-NYC (TCAT-NYC).

The course is 1,600 hours over three years and is approved by the American Society for the Alexander Technique (AmSAT). The classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday during the day.

The training and teaching methodology is based on the work of Walter and Dilys Carrington, and John Nicholls. Walter Carrington took over the training from F. M. Alexander upon his death. John Nicholls is an internationally known trainer of teachers who trained with Walter and Dilys Carrington.

For more information email: info@atcpd.com or call: (212) 564-5472.

Tom Vasiliades has taught the Alexander Technique to professional and student performers, people with chronic pain and respiratory ailments (such as asthma and emphysema), business people and athletes.  He has taught in university settings, medical offices and health clubs.  Tom is on the faculty at the New School for Drama and The Juilliard School.

What People Are Saying...

Here's what people are saying:
"With verbal imagery or guiding touch, students learn how to eliminate habits of bodily misuse - such as excessive neck tension or rounded shoulders - in simple activities such as sitting, standing, and walking....Tom had me recline upon a table, then guided me through subtle movements with verbal instructions and light touch. The table work was particularly powerful for pain relief and my posture felt naturally, centered after the session."
                                                   - Deborah Quilter, Author
The Repetitive Strain Injury Recovery Book

"With the best intentions, the job of acting can become a display of accumulated bad habits, trapped instincts and blocked energies. Working with Tom...to untangle the wires has given me sightings of another way.  Mind and body, work and life together.  Real imaginative freedom."
                                                       -Alan Rickman, Actor

"Working with Tom is a great experience. He helps you gain an awareness of your bad physical habits and then change them. The work is challenging and extremely interesting.   I would recommend it to anyone, whether world class athlete, Broadway actor, or couch potato."
                                       - John Opdycke, Independent Political Fundraiser

"I've benefited enormously from working with Tom, an exceptionally gifted teacher. Tom's lessons have helped me to take what I learn into my daily life...and onto the stage. Working with him has been inspirational."
                                                        - Lindsay Duncan, Actress
